THE MONROEVILLE
CHORUS has been a part of our community since 1954. It was formed by a
group of church choir members who wanted to sing something other than
sacred music. The
men and women who make up the chorus come from all walks of life. They
are from many communities in the East Suburbs. Members currently range in age
from the mid-twenties to the mid-eighties. We
sing a variety of music, from patriotic and seasonal favorites, to
Broadway show tunes, as well as familiar songs from the hit parades of
the 50’s through today. We do approximately 25 performances a year for many clubs, hospitals, and organizations in the Pittsburgh area. Dianne Strong Runser has been our director for since 1984. Doug Skalka has been our accompanist since 1995. Our Director and Accompanist are our only paid members. We are a totally self-contained performing group. We bring our own electronic keyboard, microphones, and amplification equipment to our shows. We are available for both day and evening performances. |
